Don't forget a good piece of film is not just the visuals on the screen. Plan your sound alongside your visuals from the start. Not only does this keep your vision, look and feel clear, it gives depth to your demonstration of genre. Sound can also help you out when you are struggling to get the shots you want depending on budget etc. e.g. you can't get a baby to film for your horror film so you film a sequence of shots of a cot, teddy bear, nursery etc and overlay a babies cries of a music-box theme.
The power of music sound AND silence are so valuable in your work.

Year 12 media week commencing 7/1//16
By Thursday you
need to have:
- · Filmed preliminary
- · Edited preliminary and added your full names, the title “preliminary task” and June 2017 to the front of the video
- · Uploaded your preliminary to the YouTube channel
- · Created a blog post showing your storyboard, (bonus challenge an animatic too!) your video and a write up that is bold and easy to follow, uses technical terminology and explores the strengths and difficulties you have faced in doing it.
- · Created an online mood board to show to the rest of your group on Monday 14th November that outlines and clearly demonstrates your own individual and initial ideas about your film opening. This could have colours, clips, sound, references to theory, references to other media texts and can be in whatever format you want. WARNING: 9 thumbnail sized pictures on a word document will not suffice.
