SOUND MUSIC AND EFFECTS

Don't forget a good piece of film is not just the visuals on the screen. Plan your sound alongside your visuals from the start. Not only does this keep your vision, look and feel clear, it gives depth to your demonstration of genre. Sound can also help you out when you are struggling to get the shots you want depending on budget etc. e.g. you can't get a baby to film for your horror film so you film a sequence of shots of a cot, teddy bear, nursery etc and overlay a babies cries of a music-box theme.
The power of music sound AND silence are so valuable in your work.
You MUST use copyright free music and thanks to the wonders of social networking and global creativity you can find a lot of what you need on Youtube.
Here are some channels with a range of copyright free music solely for this purpose.
